A national sports podcast for the busiest sports fan.

the chase thomas podcast

This national sports podcast is different. It has a different format and a different purpose than any other national show in the sports media landscape. The daily goal is to both inform and entertain busy sports fans with unique and thoughtful content.

Sportswriting and sports podcasting are Chase’s passions. Chase is fortunate enough to have thoughtful, fun conversations each day with so many different people from so many different worlds in sports media that he cannot imagine doing anything else. The Chase Thomas Podcast is the one-stop shop for busy sports fans who want to learn a little more about a lot every day.

Chase grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. He attended Parkview High School, where he got to watch the Panthers three-peat in football in the early 2000s as a young sports fan. This period in his youth likely jump-started his passion for covering sports. Chase also earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Georgia in journalism. He loved his time as a Nighthawk, and loves UNG dearly, but he always had the Big School Itch. In 2020, he finally elected to scratch that itch and enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Everything School HQ. In the fall of 2022, he earned his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Strategic & Digital Communications. That same fall, Chase married the love of his life, Samantha, and still resides in Knoxville with his lovely wife and Khaleesi The Dog.

“Chase Thomas is one of my favorite up-and-coming guys in sports media. He covers a little bit of anything and everything in the sports world, a 2017 sports renaissance man.” - Brandon Anderson / Medium

Who is Chase Thomas?

Sports Renaissance Man

Chase Thomas has been at this for a while. For as long as he can remember, Chase has known exactly what he wanted to do when he grew up. He always loved to read, write, and talk. Naturally, those passions drew him to journalism. More specifically, sports journalism. He always had his favorite sportswriters, sports radio hosts, and, later, sports podcasters. Chase read and listened to them all and dreamed about one day following in their footsteps in the sports media industry.

So he did.

Except, he did it his way. The Chase Thomas Podcast was started as an independent, long-term passion project for Chase. After a wonderful two-year run with Blue Wire, The Chase Thomas Podcast is once again an independent, long-term passion project for Chase. By remaining independent, Chase is still able to create the show he wants, one he hopes busy sports fans will love.
